The breakthrough of Intelligent Control and Automation is a clear manifestation of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Truong Thinh, Director of the Institute of Intelligent and Interactive Technologies, UEH: “Vietnam is emerging as one of the most promising markets for the chip and semiconductor component manufacturing industry.”
Anticipating this trend, UEH believes that this industry not only requires engineers specializing in engineering, research, and component development, but also engineers who can operate and program automatic and intelligent manufacturing systems. These engineers need to understand factories, production lines, and manufacturing processes, and creatively apply technology to intelligently increase productivity, quality, and efficiency. Therefore, UEH has developed an interdisciplinary program that integrates Engineering, Computer Science, and Applied Automation Technology.

The program helps students understand engineering, technology, operations, and production management, thereby enabling them to create technology-based solutions that make systems automatic without human intervention. The program is especially applicable to manufacturing industries, autonomous vehicles, energy-saving solutions, and blockchain. Some applied technology trends include Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things, robotics, cloud computing, blockchain, and Green Tech solutions.
Graduates are able to develop and provide intelligent automation solutions such as Smart Factories, Smart Workshops, and Smart Homes.
The program trains students to become Technical Consultants, Maintenance Engineers, Operations Engineers, and Control and Automation System Design Engineers. The curriculum emphasizes fundamental engineering principles, project management, and participation in design projects. It provides students with foundational knowledge in automation, measurement and control, software, signal processing, and robotics.
In addition, students develop innovative thinking, logical reasoning, critical thinking, the ability to apply new technologies, and data visualization skills. The program is implemented in cooperation with businesses and international universities to support students in carrying out real-world projects in enterprises and communities, helping them gain practical experience in new working environments. Graduates with diverse skill sets can work in various industries.
