University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), in collaboration with the Vinh Long Department of Education and Training, organized two competitions: the STEM contest and the drone operation challenge for students in the Mekong Delta region.
As part of the STEM UEH Mekong 2024 competition, nearly 400 students and teachers participated in eight training modules led by experts from the Institute of Intelligent and Interactive Technologies and the Institute of Innovation at UEH.

Students Showcase Drone Control Skills
A notable highlight of the event was the drone operation competition, where students showcased their technical skills in controlling unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Participants faced challenges such as navigating drones through obstacle courses, completing precision landings, and simulating real-world applications like delivering goods or monitoring environments.
Nguyen Truong Thinh, Director of the Institute of Intelligent and Interactive Technologies at UEH, shared: “These competitions provide an opportunity for students to access new technologies, develop critical thinking, and cultivate problem-solving skills through practical applications. By mastering STEM and drone technologies, students can better adapt to the demands of Industry 4.0 and beyond.”

Empowering Young Innovators
The STEM UEH Mekong 2024 event also included workshops and exhibitions showcasing innovative projects from students. From building automated systems to designing sustainable energy solutions, the creativity and ingenuity of young participants were on full display.
The collaboration between UEH and the Vinh Long Department of Education and Training underscores a shared commitment to fostering education that aligns with modern technological trends. With the growing interest in STEM education and emerging technologies, events like these aim to prepare students to excel in an increasingly technology-driven world.
