On January 31, 2024, the Robotics & AI and LogTech students of Class K49, Institute of Intelligent and Interactive Technologies, School of Technology and Design, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, officially completed their impressive military semester. This was a “dream come true” experience with valuable lessons in discipline, military skills, and patriotism.
In Vietnamese universities, Military Semester is a compulsory course counted as a credit unit. This course aims to cultivate ideals for students, while also raising their sense of responsibility towards society and family. Standing out among the green army uniforms at the Ho Chi Minh City National University’s National Defense and Security Education Center, the atmosphere of learning of the student-soldiers is both strict and interesting.
With a well-structured curriculum and the enthusiastic guidance of the military instructors-officers, the K49 students – Institute of Intelligent and Interactive Technologies have been trained in basic military skills, willpower, determination, and discipline. The Military Semester is also an opportunity for students to learn more about the nation’s historical and cultural traditions, and to arouse patriotism and the awareness to protect the Homeland.
For many students, Military Semester is an unforgettable mark on their “youth journey”. This is where they learn, grow, and lay the foundation for correct perceptions of life. The profound lessons imparted by the military instructors-officers have empowered the young generation to early form a love for their homeland and the spirit of “starting a business – building the nation”.
Military Semester is not only for students of the Institute of Intelligent and Interactive Technologies but also a compulsory training program for all other students of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City. When they “discharge”, each student will carry with them the valuable knowledge and skills that the Military Semester has brought, helping them to be more confident on their journey to pursue their dreams and contribute to the country.
